Transition Timetable

Kalinda Primary School offers parents a comprehensive Transition Program.   Through this program parents or guardians will gain all the information to enable your child to begin school in a positive manner and for you to feel comfortable and reassured that your child will receive an excellent education.

During Term 4 we offer four sessions in which you can bring your child to the school to join all the newly enrolled preps in exploring the prep rooms and the school.  During these sessions the children spend time doing activities in the prep area meeting their teachers and new friends.  The teachers also take them to visit the library, the music room, the art room, the environmental science garden and have a game with the PE teacher.  The children are very excited and at the beginning of the next year they rush into school on their first day happy to see their new friends again and begin their life at school.

During these sessions we invite parents or guardians to stay and have coffee with our Parents and Friends group who will be able to answer any questions you may have.  Also, guest speakers will join you to tell you about our Canteen, Out of School Hours Program, School Council and other areas of school life.  

The Uniform Shop will be open during all Transition sessions so you will be able to purchase all you need for the beginning of school in 2010.
