Branch Out 2026 Japan trip

Our 2026 Japan Study Tour is now underway, and our students have already enjoyed an unforgettable first week in Mito.

At Kalinda, we are proud to bring language and culture to life through real-world connections. A key part of this is our Branch Out Exchange Program with Lilyvale Primary School in Japan.

Every second year, our Senior students are given an incredible opportunity to travel to Japan together with Warranwood Primary School. This much-anticipated experience goes far beyond sightseeing - it’s a chance for students to build genuine friendships, immerse themselves in a new culture, and develop real-world communication skills that last a lifetime.

Our 2026 Japan Adventure

A highlight has been spending time at our sister school, Lilyvale Primary School. Students were warmly welcomed at a special assembly, where our Kalinda students proudly introduced themselves and spoke in Japanese. They have since joined classes, experienced everyday school life in Japan and shared presentations about Australia with their Japanese friends.

The students have also had the opportunity to experience Japanese culture beyond the classroom, spending the weekend with their host families and getting a glimpse into family life in Japan. These special experiences have given students opportunities to practise their Japanese, make connections and experience things that simply cannot be replicated in a classroom.

After a wonderful week in Mito, the group is nheading to Tokyo for the remainder of their adventure. There is plenty more to explore, discover and experience, and we look forward to sharing more highlights from their journey!
