Enrolling at Kalinda

At Kalinda, we warmly invite you to consider our school for your child’s education. We provide a high-quality learning experience in a caring, dynamic and innovative environment. Our students thrive through a wide range of opportunities designed to inspire curiosity, creativity and confidence.

Our school zone is available on Find My School, which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria. Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined based on their permanent residential address.

2026 Foundation (Prep) enrolments

All government primary schools follow a statewide timeline for Foundation (Prep) enrolments for the 2026 school year.  If you have a child ready to start school next year, you can find out more about Enrolling in Foundation (Prep).

Enrolments for Foundation (Prep) 2026 are completed online by creating a VicStudents account and completing the online application form. Please ensure that all documents required are attached to the application.

Foundation (Prep) 2026 Enrolment Timeline:

  1. Submit an online application for Foundation (Prep) by Friday 25 July 2025. You will receive an acknowledgement email   from Kalinda Primary School.
  2. Families and carers will be notified of the outcome of your application between Monday 28 July and Friday 8 August 2025.
  3. If you receive an enrolment offer, you should accept the offer by Friday 22 August 2025. This needs to be accepted by logging back into the VicStudents online application system.
  4. 2026 Foundation students and families will then take part in a series of enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4 2025.

Enrolment applications submitted after 25 July 2025 will be processed by our school as they are received, under the Department of Education’s Placement Policy.

We are just a phone call away! If you would like to learn more about our school and the enrolment application process, please contact us on 9876 3289.

Moving schools

If your child is currently studying at another school but you are planning to move into the area, contact us to arrange a tour and to discuss possible enrolment.

If you are moving from another government school, a student data transfer will occur after your enrolment is approved.

For students moving from a non-government school, an online enrolment application will need to be completed via VicStudents. If the enrolment is approved, families will receive an offer and will then need to log back in to VicStudents to accept the offer.

Please contact us on 9876 3289 to find out more or start the enrolment process.

Future Foundation enrolments

If your child is due to start school next year, now is the perfect time to contact us to book a tour and get to know our school community. If your child isn’t starting next year, we won’t be enrolling them just yet - but we warmly invite you to attend our community events and begin connecting with the school.

When should my child start school?

Children born before April 30 are eligible to start school in the year they turn five. Some families, in consultation with their kindergarten, may choose to delay starting school by a year - though this isn’t always necessary.

Children born on or after May 1 should begin school in the year they turn six.
